The Second Batch of 'Teen Mom' Will Premiere

The second batch of "Teen Mom" will premiere in January next year, Executive Producer Morgan J. Freeman announced on Tuesday, November 16. The reality show follows the lives of teenage girls during their first year of motherhood after "16 and Pregnant".

The sophomore season uses the girls from the second season of the original show although which of them have not been announced. The first season followed more closely four out of six teenagers on "16 and Pregnant" season 1.

Season 2 had actually been reported earlier this year but the shooting has not been kicked off until now. The premiere date is set for January 11 on MTV.

Meanwhile, it is still blurry whether there will be "Teen Mom 3" featuring the first season's cast - Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell, Farrah Abraham and Amber Portwood. On this Freeman said, "We're doing some continuous-type shooting with the original 'Teen Mom' [cast], but nothing's been announced yet about what we'll do with that."

Fans of New AMC Series 'The Walking Dead' May Squirm

Fans of new AMC series "The Walking Dead" may squirm at the following news. THR is reporting that the zombie series is not going to be back for the second season anytime soon. The predicted premiere date of the new season is October 2011, which is exactly a year after the first season debuts.

This is particularly frustrating for some because the first season only has 6 episodes. But AMC has several good reasons to premiere the series that late. First of all, it aims for another Fearfest which is the horror-themed programmings leading to Halloween festivity. There will be higher level of audience which fits the genre, and since "Walking Dead" is doing fairly well, it can compete with broadcast shows which mainly premiere in Fall.

Second of all, AMC has a full list of other shows waiting to get their premieres. "Breaking Bad" and "Mad Men" will occupy summer while newbie "The Killing" is going to be slipped in somewhere next year. In order to give each of them a proper promotion, AMC is planning to spread them equally throughout the year.

Third reason, the second season, which would have 13 episodes, has not even gone into production. There was a rumor that it would start in February 2011 but an AMC rep told CBR that nothing has been decided yet.

Transformation Revealed in MTV's 'Teen Wolf' Trailer

MTV shows it through the trailer that their take of "Teen Wolf" won't be as cheesy and hairy as the 1985 movie starring Michael J. Fox. The newly-released footage reveals a lot of details including how Tyler Posey's Scott McCall turns into the creature, who the villains are and what are his dilemmas in turning into the beast.

The network described the series as a "sexy thriller set against the drama of high school life with a forbidden, romantic love story at its core." Liz Gateley, MTV Senior Vice President of Series Development said, "We loved the conceit of the original film and knew the title had a great hook. The creative challenge was to take that title and reinvent it as a horror series for the MTV audience. It combines romance and high school to make 'Teen Wolf' the perfect thriller for MTV."

Set to premiere early next year, "Teen Wolf" is supported as well by Dylan O'Brien as Scott's best friend 'Stiles', Crystal Reed as the mysterious new girl in town, 'Allison', and Tyler Hoechlin as the older and possibly quite dangerous werewolf, 'Derek Hale'.

The Race to Win An Oscar for Best Animated Film Will Be Less Competitive This Year

The race to win an Oscar for Best Animated Film will be less competitive this year. On Monday, November 15, the Academy announced that they have only accepted 15 films for consideration for the Best Animated Feature prize, which means there will be only three nominees in the category. Had there been one more film accepted, the category would have increased to five slots.

This year's top grossers "Toy Story 3" and "Shrek Forever After" are among the consideration, joined by fellow hits "How to Train Your Dragon" and "Despicable Me" as well as newly-released "Megamind". Other animations in the running are "Alpha and Omega", "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore", "Idiots and Angels", "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole", "My Dog Tulip" and "Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue".

Meanwhile, the final four of the academy's 15 accepted films still need to start a one-week run at a Los Angeles theater by December 31 to qualify for this upcoming annual awards event. They include "Tangled", "The Illusionist", "The Dreams of Jinsha" and "Summer Wars".

The nominations for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards will be released on January 25, 2011 and the ceremony will be held on February 27, 2011.

AMC Releases A Sneak Peek of 'The Walking Dead'

AMC has released a sneak peek to the next episode of "The Walking Dead". Shane and the gang show a concern of Jim when he keeps digging a hole under 100 degrees heat. And when Jim becomes uncontrollable, Shane is forced to manhandle him and put a handcuff on. Unhinged, Jim reveals the truth about what he did to his family.

Meanwhile, Rick runs into unforseen problems, which get in the way with his mission to return to Atlanta. The November 21 episode is called "Vatos".

"Walking Dead" is three episodes into the first season. The sophomore episode showed a decrease in rating although not drastically, going from 5.3 million to 4.7 million.

Revealing why the series is different from any other zombie projects out there, AMC's head of programming Joel Stillerman said, "There are sequences where zombies are actually humanized. The series has an empathetic point of view that isn't just about the survivors but about the zombies, too."
